Archaeology

Being an archaeologist, I try to understand how people lived in the past by looking at the things they left behind. Archaeologists are like detectives, we find clues about the past through digging (excavation) then piece these clues together to create a picture of what life might have been like in the ancient world. From this we also try to make a chronology, a sequence of events and dates through time.

Artefacts

This sheet includes a 3D model of a "palimpsest" which is a special type of archaeological site. A palimpsest is where there are layers of occupation on top of one another. In this 3D example, you can tap the layers or the buttons to show 3 different layers, medieval, Roman, and Iron Age.
